Junaid Khan & Sai Pallavi’s Teaser to Premiere With Sitaare Zameen Par
Aamir Khan’s most awaited film, Sitaare Zameen Par, is approaching its grand premiere on June 20, and to ramp up the excitement for moviegoers, a teaser for Aamir Khan Productions’ romantic drama film featuring Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi will be attached to the theatrical prints.
A source close to the development shared:
“The teaser of AKP’s next, starring Aamir’s son Junaid and South sensation Sai Pallavi, will be screened before Sitaare Zameen Par. As this is Aamir’s big wide-release film with anticipated strong footfalls, it would definitely be a valuable opportunity for Junaid’s new outing to be shown to a bigger audience base.”
Is It Ek Din? Here’s What We Know So Far
The title is unconfirmed, but there is speculation that the romantic drama will be entitled Ek Din, which has been speculated to be an adaptation of the Korean film One Day (2011). Neither Aamir Khan Productions nor the cast have publicly confirmed either the plot or title, but there is speculation that the adaptation will be true to its emotional core while taking a unique Indian angle on the film as well.
The film was directed by Sunil Pandey, who has worked with Junaid before on another AKP project, titled Pritam Pyare.
From Mumbai to Japan: A Dreamlike Setting
As one of the film’s unique selling points, the film offers a striking visual palette of colour. A significant portion of the film was shot during the Snow Festival in Sapporo, Japan, which imbues each moment with a dreamlike quality — a spectacle-in-winter fantasy like an Enid Blyton novel.
When the leaked on-location images of Junaid and Sai Pallavi were shared online during production last year, the internet went wild.
The romantic tale began shooting in Mumbai in December 2023 and then transferred to Japan for its scenic shots. Beautiful landscapes are a crucial element of the film’s emotional arc and add to its storytelling dynamic.
Earlier Plans & Current Status
Originally the film was scheduled for a release on Valentine’s Day 2025, but production decided to delay the release due to a conflict with Junaid’s debut romcom Mouj ki Zavana (Loveyapa), which released on February 7 and competed with Khushi Kapoor’s debut film that same month.
We are unsure of a new release date at this time, but Sitaare Zameen Par is primed for the teaser to make its public debut.
