Shoot Halted Due To Pahalgam Attack

Setting the Record Straight On The Delay Of Bollywood’s Biggest Comedy Cast

There was much speculation around the delayed production and rumours relating to an alleged hold due to pending payment of dues. However, according to a source with “Welcome To The Jungle”, it’s now been confirmed that the hold on production is solely because of the recent Pahalgam terror attack and nothing related to pending payments.

The film starring Akshay Kumar was shooting in Kashmir, and after the attack, it has created a broader sense of security concern around the shoot and therefore has led to the shoot being postponed to the post-monsoon period for now.

“Pahalgam Attack Disrupted Plans, Not Money Troubles”

A source insider provided clarity regarding production delays and pending and missing payments to actors and crew.

“70% of the film is done, it was the last 30% we would have shot in Kashmir. After the unfortunate Pahalgam attack, the cast and crew decided to halt for safety.”

The source also continued:

“Paragliders, horses and horsemen, helicopter and over 1,200 junior artists would take up for the last, this was not a project that you could ‘shift’ in a day. Now, we will have to lock the new location for the post-monsoon window.”

34 Actors, One Jungle? Zero Dues?

The film has an enormous scale, with 34 actors in the ensemble—Suniel Shetty, Anil Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, etc.

There were reports stating that some actors had walked away from the project over money disputes. However, the source said:

“There’s total clarity. The actors are committed to the franchise because of the brand and love for the audience. The vibe on set is incredibly positive. Everyone is on the same page.”

From An A Cappella Reveal To A Christmas Move

Welcome to the Jungle was announced in 2023 with a delightful a cappella video, and all the actors introduced themselves with a quirky musical compilation.

Originally targeted for a Christmas 2025 release, the film has been moved, with a new announced release date to come following wrapping.

With the anticipation and nostalgia surrounding the Welcome franchise, the fans have an extremely high bar set with this third instalment.
