Jeff Bezos’ wedding welcome party spirals out of his control as bride and the guests flee – We Got This Covered

If only Jeff Bezos could pay off clouds.

Even the climate is protesting Jeff Bezos’ over-the-top $50 million wedding in the heart of Venice. His welcome party apparently had the unwelcome guest of an unforgiving torrent of downpour.

Bezos’ team has reportedly been busy hounding and then ejecting some hotel guests in Venice. Their idea of turning the city into a theme park apparently also includes the concept of exclusivity. The financial specifics are all subject to debate right now, but what is clear is that the wedding has used Bezos’ infinite wealth to ensure that the only people who will find the city hospitable this weekend will be his rich and famous friends.

The city, obviously, is not a fan of this. Europe is a proud place on our planet, full of very old cultures that don’t take kindly to disruption. Venice may look nice in pictures, but it is a real place, not a movie set — there are locals who need the week to just go to work or enjoy their hobbies, and now they reportedly can’t even use the ferries without permission from this stranger. The city has basically been turned into an Amazon fulfillment center overnight. And there’s nothing they can do about it — but fate doesn’t follow the man-made concept of capitalism, and it clearly had other plans. One onlooker quipped, “It just goes to show you can have all the money in the world but you can’t control the weather.”

Jeff Bezos’ life turned around when he met Lauren Sánchez. He suddenly became more public with various displays of flaunting, and for his wedding, the situation wasn’t any different — the week was supposed to have Sánchez and Bezos touring the city with various celebrities and gowns in water taxis. The only water they got to interact with came from above. Page Six reports Kim and the rest of the Kardishians, Oprah Winfrey, and even climate champion on a break Leonardo DiCaprio trying their best to dodge the rain on their night out.

People online are not elated about this party at all. Jeff Bezos has spent the better part of his post-Amazon life making bizarre publicity stunts like this. It just serves to show people why the workers at Amazon get underpaid. It reminds people who are lectured about using straws what the richest people are actually doing with their private jets and endless resources. All the public posturing and space trips get kneecapped when people see stunts like this. This is not the flex it probably was planned as.

The details of this wedding suggest they were trying to mimic a royal wedding, where the whole world stops to see a celebration of love by people who represent a nation, a culture, and a specific way of life. But what does Jeff Bezos truly represent? Tax evasion? Is that what people are supposed to celebrate while they can barely afford the rising cost of goods and anxieties of an impending war?

It’s worth mentioning that an onlooker did say there’s an Italian saying that a wet bride is a happy bride. So, good for them. But we all know that if Bezos could also pay off the clouds, he would. There’s not enough control in the universe to satisfy these guys. I suppose they’ll rent the whole of Africa for their safari honeymoon next.
