Taye Diggs Set to Return to the Screen
Taye Diggs is taking on a principal role in an upcoming independent dramatic film called Another Man’s Wife.
It has been some 27 years since we saw the great Taye Diggs as Angela Bassett’s younger love interest in the fun and sexy, How Stella Got Her Groove Back. These days, Diggs has a lot going on still and is getting his own groove back as he has just been revealed as the star in a film called Another Man’s Wife. This project is one of the most intriguing ones the actor has taken on lately and features a plot that hasn’t fully been revealed as of yet. Still, the details we do know about the movie’s story line are certainly enough to pique Diggs’ fans initial curiosity.
Diggs is certainly no stranger to romantic dramas and has appeared in top-flight films like The Best Man and The Wood, to mention just a couple of his older well-received movies. In the new project, Another Man’s Wife, Diggs will be front and center against the likes of Sydney Mitchell and Moritz J. Williams. Diggs will portray a millionaire who comes to make a proposal to a financially burdened couple caring for a sick parent. We don’t know what the proposal is yet, but we hope it’s not an “indecent” one like the plot of the 1993 movie, Indecent Proposal showcased although with Diggs as the millionaire, whatever the plot is, the film should be a good one. Another Man’s Wife is directed by Viere NiBlack-Gray and finished principal photography not too long ago in Atlanta.
When Diggs’ breakthrough role in How Stella Got Her Groove Back (as Angela Bassett’s love interest) first came out in theaters, people were stunned by the actor’s tremendous screen presence, and he went on to become a leading man in a star-filled box-office hit, The Best Man, which was followed many years later by The Best Man Holiday.
Taye Diggs is also a distinguished member of the original Broadway cast of Rent and was featured in the movie of the same name. He will be seen later this summer in the great Broadway show, Moulin Rouge! The Musical. Diggs has a personality that shines and every role he takes on features tremendous energy that the actor almost always brings to the table with few, if any, exceptions. Expect Another Man’s Wife to be a thought-provoking look at haves and have nots. Diggs will be playing a character who can make a financial difference for a couple of have nots for either better or worse depending on the way the story line takes flight. Sounds like a recipe for a solid drama for sure!
