MANILA, Philippines—Filipino NBA hopeful Kevin Quiambao did not make the cut for the Sacramento Kings’ Summer League roster.
The Kings released their lineup Monday ahead of their opening game against the Orlando Magic on Friday (Manila time) in Las Vegas.

Quiambao arrived in Sacramento hoping to make a good account of himself with the Kings, who have Philippine basketball legend Jimmy Alapag as their player development coach and will be one of the team’s assistant coaches in the Summer League.
The 24-year-old Quiambao tried out but just couldn’t crack a spot on the team’s Summer League squad that has reigning G League MVP Mason Jones, last year’s 13th overall pick Devin Carter and this year’s 24th pick Nique Clifford.
Quiambao decided to pursue his NBA dream in December last year, turning pro with the Goyang Sono SkyGunners in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) after just three UAAP seasons with La Salle.

The versatile forward, a two-time UAAP MVP and led the Green Archers to a championship in 2023, put up solid numbers in his first KBL season.
He averaged 16.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.3 steals in 23 games for Goyang.
Kai Sotto remains as the most recent Filipino to play in the NBA Summer League after suiting up for the Magic in 2023.
