Indie Sales woos buyers to TIFF closing night comedy ‘Peak Everything’, starring Piper Perabo

'Peak Everything'

EXCLUSIVE: Canadian director Anne Emond’s romantic comedy Peak Everything (Amour Apocalypse), which is set to close this year’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), has sold widely for Indie Sales following its world premiere in Director’s Fortnight at Cannes in May.

Patrick Hivon and Piper Perabo star in the French- and English-language film about the unexpected encounter between a dog-kennel owner with existential fears about the world ending and the customer service representative on a technical support line for a therapeutic solar lamp he purchases.

Peak Everything has sold to Austria (Polyfilm), France (L’Atelier Distribution), Spain (Vertigo), Sweden (Maywin), Benelux (Vedette), Russia (Rocket Releasing), Poland (Aurora), Bulgaria (Beta Films), Taiwan (Andrews), Latin America (Synapse), Indonesia (PT Falcon), India (Book my show), with more deals in the works, according to Indie Sales.

The film is produced by Sylvain Corbeil of Metafilms, the Montreal-based production company behind last year’s Directors’ Fortnight audience award winner Universal Language and 2022 Directors’ Fortnight entry Falcon Lake.

“Buyers are definitely attracted by the film’s uplifting yet very modern story which resonates with current anxieties of audiences from different ages and backgrounds, but always remains optimistic and tender,” said Sarah Delafoulhouze, sales agent at Indie Sales.

After world premiering in Cannes, Peak Everything went on to win the grand prize at June’s Cabourg Film Festival in France.
