It is a rare instance of Joe Rogan scratching the surface of something more substantial than alien conspiracies or ice baths, and for that, we’ll give him a slow clap.

Rogan’s latest gripe stems from growing frustration over the Trump administration’s handling of Epstein-related evidence. On a recent episode of his podcast, Rogan openly questioned why former FBI official Kash Patel, a Trump ally, dismissed concerns about missing surveillance footage from Epstein’s jail cell and claimed there was nothing more to the story.

Rogan zeroed in on surveillance footage from Epstein’s New York jail cell, which was supposed to provide clarity about the circumstances of his death. While some footage was released, it came with an inexplicable one-minute gap — a detail that Rogan, like many others, found deeply suspicious. “How does that happen?” Rogan asked. It’s a valid question. Epstein’s death was surrounded by a series of bizarre “coincidences”— from cameras malfunctioning to guards falling asleep — that have fueled endless speculation. And yet, despite the public’s demand for answers, there’s been little movement from authorities to provide them.

More troubling, Rogan pointed out, is the broader lack of accountability. Trump administration officials, including former Attorney General Pam Bondi, also claimed there were “thousands of hours” of video evidence implicating Epstein and his powerful associates. Trump and Epstein were photographed together multiple times in the 1990s and early 2000s, and Trump once described Epstein as “a terrific guy.” While Trump has since distanced himself from Epstein, dismissing him as someone he “didn’t like,” the lingering questions about their relationship continue to raise eyebrows.

When pressed about the Epstein case during a recent cabinet meeting, Trump reportedly snapped, “Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein?” His response suggested he’d much rather focus on other topics. But for many, this evasiveness is precisely the problem. Rogan has often been a vocal advocate for free speech and open debate, and he endorsed Trump for re-election in 2024. But even Rogan seemed genuinely baffled by the lack of progress on the case.

“When Kash Patel was on the show,” Rogan said, referencing a recent interview with the former FBI official, “he acted like there was nothing to see here. And honestly, I didn’t even know what to say.” Rogan isn’t the only one frustrated with Trump’s apparent disinterest in the Epstein files. A growing number of right-wing commentators and voters are starting to question why the man who promised to “fight for the forgotten” seems so uninterested in exposing one of the biggest scandals of our time.
