Gilas Pilipinas at 2025 Fiba Asia Cup: what to know
MANILA, Philippines—Like fellow San Miguel Beer teammates June Mar Fajardo and CJ Perez, rest will have to wait for Jericho Cruz as he shifts focus on being part of Guam’s maiden appearance in the Fiba Asia Cup.
Cruz left for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia over the weekend as he looks to give Guam a respectable showing amid a difficult task in the continental tournament.

“Here comes Guam. Time to represent,” Cruz said on his Instagram account.
The 34-year-old is coming off a memorable role in San Miguel Beer’s run to the PBA Philippine Cup crown that saw him being named the Finals Most Valuable Player.
Guam is hoping that Cruz can carry that form into the Asia Cup where it will face Japan, Iran and Syria in Group B.

Its first game is on Wednesday against Iran before facing Syria on Saturday and Japan on Sunday.
“That’s where we can see where the caliber of Team Guam is,” Cruz said in a feature posted on the tournament’s official page.
Guam qualified the hard way after placing second in the final qualifying tournament last March in Taipei.
