MANILA, Philippines–LA Tenorio on Monday presided over his first practice since being named new coach of the Magnolia Hotshots.
A picture shared by the team on its social media accounts showed Tenorio gathering his players at center court after the session held at San Miguel Corporation’s sports facility in Pasig City.

The session came two weeks after SMC sports director Alfrancis Chua confirmed Tenorio’s appointment after Chito Victolero handled the Hotshots for nine seasons.
Last week, Tenorio made his first public appearance with the team during the celebration of Magnolia’s centennial anniversary.
Chua had said that there’s immediate pressure for Tenorio to win a championship, something the Hotshots last enjoyed back in the 2018 Governors’ Cup.

Noticeable during the session was the presence of Kirk Collier, who has been a part of the Ginebra staff for several years, indicating that he’s among those joining Tenorio at the Magnolia camp.
Tenorio is also doing a dual act as he’s also preparing the Gilas Pilipinas Youth for the Fiba U-16 Asia Cup later this month in Mongolia.
Among the players who were present during Magnolia’s first day for its 50th season buildup were Mark Barroca, Jerom Lastimosa, Russell Escoto, Joseph Eriobu and Aris Dionisio.
