Boney Kapoor Admits, “We Waited 8–10 Years… But I Lost the Chance to Retain Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan”

Nearly two decades after the blockbuster success of No Entry, producer Boney Kapoor has candidly shared his regrets over not reuniting the original trio of Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan for the highly anticipated sequel, No Entry 2. Though the project is finally gaining momentum, the original actors won’t be returning despite the nostalgia and excitement surrounding the sequel.

Boney Kapoor Reflects on the Lost Opportunity

In a recent chat with Instant Bollywood, Boney Kapoor expressed his remorse: “Poori star cast hi humne change ki. Toh ye humara loss hai that we could not retain the original cast. We waited for almost 8‑10 years but somehow things didn’t happen. We will miss them. And now we are trying to give a fresh start with a younger lot of actors. But at the same time, we will miss Salman, we will miss Anil and Fardeen. They were the original three boys in No Entry. And they were most loved.”

He continued, “Waqt beet gaya wait karte karte aur aaj hum shayad new setup ke saath koi nayi cheezein usmein…ho sakta hai sab cheezein aur different ho. But maine mauka kho diya. Gaadi aage nikal gayi. Ab ye pachhtaawa hoga ki same setup nahi hai. Because Salman is a fantastic guy, Anil is a fantastic guy, brother and actor. Fardeen is one of the best guys I have known in the film industry. I will miss them. But somehow, we have moved on, and let’s hope the decision is right.”

New Faces Bring Fresh Energy to No Entry 2

Instead of the original cast, the sequel is introducing a new ensemble featuring Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, and Diljit Dosanjh in leading roles. Tamannaah Bhatia has officially signed on as one of the female leads, returning to the comedy genre in a role similar in essence to Bipasha Basu’s character from the original film. Reports also suggest that Aditi Rao Hydari is in talks for another important female role, though her involvement is yet to be confirmed.

Original Cast Couldn’t Return for No Entry 2

The original No Entry, directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Boney Kapoor, released in August 2005 and became a massive hit. Featuring a comic ensemble including Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan, it grossed around ₹74 crore on a ₹20 crore budget. The storied chemistry among the trio, paired with the vibrant supporting cast, cemented it as one of Bollywood’s most beloved comedies.

While Boney Kapoor cited regret and longing for the original trio, earlier reports had pointed to practical issues like scheduling conflicts. In a News18 interview, he mentioned, “we cannot repeat the same star cast because there were issues, especially with the dates. We need at least 200 days of combination dates to complete the shoot”. Fardeen Khan also confirmed his absence, suggesting interested parties refer to Boney Kapoor for details, signaling that his non-involvement was not due to reluctance.
