Maddock Films is bringing a fresh on-screen pairing with its upcoming movie, Param Sundari, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor. Producer Dinesh Vijan recently discussed the film, sharing what makes it a special story for today’s generation and why Sidharth and Janhvi were the perfect actors for the roles.
A Story of Technology Vs. Simplicity
Dinesh Vijan explained that Param Sundari is a cross-cultural love story with a very relevant message for young people. The film explores the contrast between two different worlds. The male lead, Param, is a modern character who is heavily dependent on technology and apps for everything in his life. “Param comes from a place deeply influenced by technology, he’s somebody who really believes in apps,” Vijan shared.
On the other hand, the female lead, Sundari, lives in a simpler world where technology hasn’t made a big impact. “There are still pockets in India where life is very simple. This dynamic is what excited me to make the film,” Vijan added. The story looks at how today’s youth, who rely on apps for everything from food to love, might miss out on real, simple connections. The film suggests that it’s important to trust our hearts over algorithms.
Why Sidharth And Janhvi Are The Perfect Choice
Dinesh Vijan also spoke about the interesting casting. He pointed out that although Sidharth Malhotra is a very handsome actor, he hasn’t done a romantic comedy in six years, making this a fresh return to the genre for him. This role will give his fans a chance to see him in a lighthearted, romantic avatar after a long time.
For Janhvi Kapoor, the role of Sundari is something new. Vijan mentioned that while Janhvi’s real-life personality is somewhat like her character, she has never played a part like this before. This makes the pairing of Sidharth and Janhvi exciting and unpredictable. “It’s very interesting to see these two come together,” the producer said.
