The excitement for Priyadarshan’s upcoming thriller, Haiwaan, is growing every day. The latest news is that talented actress Saiyami Kher has officially joined the film’s massive star cast. She will be sharing the screen with Bollywood superstars Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan in the movie, which has already started shooting in Kochi.
This film is already one of the most talked-about projects, mainly because it brings Akshay and Saif back together on screen after a long gap of 18 years. With Saiyami Kher now on board, the cast has become even more powerful.
A Dream Come True For Saiyami Kher
For Saiyami, joining Haiwaan is an emotional and overwhelming experience. She shared her excitement, saying it feels like a dream to work with the actors she grew up watching. She said, “I still remember being that little girl who sat wide-eyed in a theatre, watching Akshay sir redefine action or laughing endlessly at Saif sir’s effortless comic timing. Back then, I never imagined that one day I would actually be on a set with the very people whose films shaped my love for cinema.”
She also spoke about her respect for the director, Priyadarshan, calling him a storyteller who has given Indian cinema some of its most iconic films. She added, “My heart is full, and I feel incredibly blessed to be a small part of a film that already feels so special.”
Shriya Pilgaonkar Adds To The Excitement
Saiyami Kher’s casting comes just a day after it was announced that another popular actress, Shriya Pilgaonkar, had also joined the film. Shriya, who has won hearts with her roles in OTT shows like The Broken News and Guilty Minds, brings a fresh energy to the project. Her presence adds a great mix of new-age talent alongside the veteran stars, making the cast a perfect blend of different generations of actors.
What Makes Haiwaan So Special?
Haiwaan has been making headlines for many reasons. The biggest highlight is the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, whose on-screen chemistry was last seen in the 2008 film Tashan. Adding to the buzz is Akshay Kumar’s first look, which shows him in a menacing role as the main villain with a buzz cut and a rough beard.
The film is an official remake of Priyadarshan’s own 2016 Malayalam blockbuster, Oppam. In a huge update, it has been confirmed that South Indian superstar Mohanlal, who was the hero in the original, will also have a role in the Hindi remake, making it a true pan-India project.
