TikTok claim the dog is innocent despite the overwhelming evidence.
TikTok loves dogs. In fact, pets of all kinds are adored on the social media app, but dogs have a special status online as beings of pure joy and innocence, even if that isn’t always the case.
One misbehaving pup was somehow able to destroy part of his owner’s car, causing hundreds of dollars worth of damage, and the owner was able to document the whole thing. The pitbull named Bear is currently going viral as he stands accused of tearing off the fender and the material around one of the front wheels of his owners car. It looks like he was trying to eat the car.
Bear’s owner is flabbergasted by the damage her sweet pup has managed to do to her vehicle as she asks, “what is going on?” Showing the destruction Bear has created she then pans the camera over to the offending canine asking him, “why did you do that?” Bear pleads the fifth, looking perhaps a little bit guilty but remaining tight-lipped, presumably waiting for his lawyer to arrive.
The owner re-examines the car explaining, “he took off my whole fender and whatever this protective thing is, pretty important it looks like.” She turns back to Bear and utters the words no dog wants to hear, “bad boy.”
TikTok rushes to Bear’s defense
Of course, Bear’s defense team soon showed up in the form of the TikTok comments who jumped to provide alibis for the adorable pitbull. “Bear was definitely framed,” wrote one viewer, another chimed in, “your honor there is no evidence that Bear was responsible for this. motion to dismiss.”
It seems the allegedly destructive pup has got quite the strong defense, but not everyone is convinced. “I’m sorry but I’d be Ubering him BACK to the park asap,” one person wrote, referencing the caption from the video which reads, “might have an idea of why he was dumped in the park.” Another writes, “And I’d do it again,” sharing a pic of Bear’s guilty looking face.
Some also placed part of the blame on the owner as they claimed that Bear might be acting out because he is understimulated, “he’s a high energy dog, they need a lot of exercise and get bored easily.” Some recommended getting durable toys or other items that Bear can wear himself out destroying so he doesn’t damage things like his owner’s vehicle.
Meanwhile, plenty commended the owner for having a calm response to Bear’s destruction, “he’s found the perfect home with someone patient enough to handle him,” wrote one viewer. Judging by the rest of the videos on the account it certainly looks like Bear has found a loving home where he gets all he needs.
