Nattergal, a company that purchases land to turn it into rewilding projects, has been making waves in recent years.

Only four years after its founding in 2021, the company has already established three rewilding sites, with more in the pipeline.

We visited their most recent rewilding project, Harold’s Park Wildland, which Nattergal acquired the land for 1.5 years ago in 2024.

We spoke to Lorienne Whittle, Nattergal’s Rewilding Landscapes Architect, about the company’s grand visions and how they have already started to see the positive impacts of their work at Harold’s Park Wildland.

The links to the Knepp project

The Knepp Estate, the UK’s most famous rewilding project to date, played a key role in the establishment of Nattergal, as the co-founder of Knepp, Charlie Burrell, was also involved in setting up Nattergal, Whittle explained.

Whittle believes that they at Nattergal have found the solution to what many have tried to figure out, how to fund rewilding and nature recovery.
