Atlanta – A 4.1 preliminary magnitude earthquake was reported on Saturday morning at Tennessee and was felt in Atlanta, Georgia and Western North Carolina, according to US geological research and local news.
The USGS website said the earthquake originated shortly after 9 am, about 20 kilometers from Greenback, Tennessee, which is about 48 kilometers south of Knoxville.
Meteorologists at the television news stations that serve in Georgia and North Carolina also felt the tremors as well.
