The city of Sandusky’s Parks and Recreation Division has announced the return of Movies by the Bay, a free outdoor movie series held on Monday evenings this summer on the lawn of the Jackson Street Pier, according to a news release.
Starting June 16 and running through Aug. 4, families and movie lovers of all ages are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy a great lineup of family-friendly films against the backdrop of the Sandusky Bay, the release said.
Each movie will begin at 7 p.m. on the Firelands Health Screen, according to the release.
This year’s series is sponsored by Aligned Data Centers.

“We love seeing families gather at the pier to watch a movie together,” said Jason Werling, recreation superintendent for the city of Sandusky, in the release. “It’s a fun and free way to enjoy summer in downtown Sandusky.
“And, we are so excited to welcome Aligned Data Centers to Sandusky as our new sponsor for this season’s Movies by the Bay lineup.”
Attendees are welcome to bring snacks, and nearby downtown businesses will be open before and after the movie for food and drinks, according to the release.
