The largest cinematic showdown of 2025 is going to the biggest screen possible, with Yash Raj Films announcing that WAR 2, the highly anticipated sequel starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, will be released on IMAX screens around the world on Thursday, August 14, 2025 — just in front of India’s Independence Day weekend.
Along with the announcement comes another big reveal — the IMAX teaser trailer of WAR 2 will only be shown with Kamal Haasan‘s Thug Life — also in IMAX this week.

With WAR 2 claiming to be YRF’s biggest film of all time (reportedly produced on a ₹400 crore budget), the studio is going all-in with premium formats and event-type marketing.

The first official teaser for WAR 2 will be attached to all IMAX screenings of Thug Life, releasing across India and international markets this week.
The teaser should feature the first glimpse of the Hrithik vs Jr NTR face-off, which should set the stage for the power-packed spy saga.
