A QUIET PLACE PART III (2027): Another Installment of Popular Horror Movie Franchise Is in the Works

John Krasinski to Pen, Produce and Direct Threequel

John Krasinski is going to be helming the latest entry in a popular horror movie franchise, A Quiet Place Part III.

John Krasinski will be writing, producing and directing A Quiet Place Part III. This highly anticipated Paramount release will be making its way to theaters on July 9, 2027. No word at this time is available on whether or not Emily Blunt will be back, but IMDb does have Millicent Simmonds in the cast list on the movie’s official page on the site. In fact, she’s the only cast member currently on display there.

This franchise has been hugely successful right from the get-go. 2018’s A Quiet Place was noteworthy for the way it presented its plot of people trying to escape aliens who are sensitive to any type of noise. This made for some scenes of silence within the film and its sequel which were both well-received.

Krasinski (who recently directed the family friendly IF) had a major role in the first film and a smaller part in flashbacks featured in the second film. A prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One, was made independently of the other two movies in the series. That more recent film was not directed by Krasinski. It was directed by Michael Sarnoski (Pig). Now that Krasinski is in the director’s seat for a third installment of the series, audiences are hoping for more of what drove the success of the first two films and even the prequel which did well at the box-office despite some disconnect from the other two movies regarding its stars and directors.

A Quiet Place Part II was a big hit at the box-office despite being released during the pandemic. Many probably expect A Quiet Place Part III to be a bigger hit than “Part II” given the absence of the pandemic and the fact that maximum enjoyment of the film is highly dependent on seeing it in the theater. That’s because the quiet sequences are best experienced in a theater with an audience even if one can hear others chewing on their popcorn in the most silent scenes of these pictures.

The second A Quiet Place movie is still the most audience acclaimed of the series from a CinemaScore grade standpoint. That film garnered an “A-” CinemaScore mark while the original movie and the prequel both received mere “B+” marks. Krasinski also has a chance to revitalize the series depending on who he chooses to join the cast. Emily Blunt could come on-board, but, last time out, Oppenheimer himself, Cillian Murphy came into the mix as a supporting player. We’ll see who comes aboard the new sequel as news on this project develops. Expect this upcoming movie to be one of summer 2027’s biggest box-office hits.
