Yet another way to assault America’s senses

Former Republican congressman Adam Kinzinger has criticized President Donald Trump’s new fragrance line in a heated social media exchange.

Trump recently launched a collection of colognes and perfumes through his website GetTrumpFragrances.com. The products include “Fight Fight Fight” and “Victory 47” scents for both men and women. The controversy began when Trump posted about his new fragrance line on social media. Trump wrote that the fragrances are called “Victory 45-47” because they are “all about Winning, Strength, and Success” for men and women. He encouraged supporters to buy bottles for themselves and their loved ones.

Kinzinger responded with strong criticism on social media. He questioned the appeal of Trump’s fragrances, asking “who would want that?” when referring to products that smell like Trump, continuing his pattern of calling out what he views as Trump’s weakness and poor leadership. Kinzinger called Trump “a grifting clown” in his response to the fragrance announcement.

Trump faces criticism from Democrats over fragrance timing

The fragrance launch has drawn criticism from Democratic lawmakers who question the timing. Senator Mark Warner from Virginia wrote on social media that Trump is selling perfume while his party votes to remove health insurance from millions of Americans. Warner said the perfume likely smells like “garbage,” similar to the proposed legislation.

Representative Brendan Boyle from Pennsylvania also criticized Trump’s focus on selling fragrances. Boyle said millions of Americans are about to lose healthcare thanks to Trump and Republican lawmakers. He questioned why the president is focused on selling perfume to make money instead of governing.

The fragrances are priced as luxury items with the Victory 47 editions costing $249 per bottle, adding to Trump’s long history of questionable product endorsements and merchandise ventures. The products are described as limited edition collectibles that commemorate Trump’s victory and upcoming inauguration as the 47th president. The Victory 47 bottles are designed as golden Trump statues. The Fight Fight Fight fragrances come in different packaging and are marketed to “patriots who never back down.” All four products are available for immediate purchase and ship nationwide through the official website.
