Ajay Devgn took to social media today to reveal the much-anticipated first poster of Son of Sardaar 2, the sequel to his 2012 action-comedy Son of Sardaar. The poster brings back the chaotic Punjabi energy, promising another wild family entertainer. Devgn tweeted, “Yeh family photo nahi…Yeh hone wale dhamaake ki warning hai!” teasing fans with a glimpse of the madness in store.
The sequel is directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and features an ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn reprising his role as Jassi and Mrunal Thakur, who joins the franchise in a lead role. Also seen in the poster are Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Chunky Panday, Deepak Dobriyal, Kubbra Sait, Vindhu Dara Singh, Sharat Saxena, Ashwini Kalsekar, Roshni Walia, Sahil Mehta, Neeru Bajwa, and Mukul Dev. The poster showcases this eclectic lineup in a chaotic living room setup, hinting at madcap comedy and familial fireworks. Son of Sardaar 2 is set to release in cinemas on 25th July 2025.
Sequel to the 2012 hit Son of Sardaar
Son of Sardaar 2 is a follow-up to the Diwali 2012 release Son of Sardaar, which starred Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, and Juhi Chawla. While the original was directed by Ashwni Dhir, the sequel brings a new directorial voice in Vijay Kumar Arora, known for his work in Punjabi cinema. The screenplay is penned by Jagdeep Singh Sidhu and Mohit Jain, with Danish Devgn attached as creative producer.

The film is jointly produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, N.R. Pachisia, and Pravin Talreja. Kumar Mangat Pathak serves as co-producer, and the production is backed by Devgn Films and SOS2 Limited in association with Jio Studios and T-Series.
Mrunal Thakur joins the franchise
While the first film had Sonakshi Sinha as the female lead, Son of Sardaar 2 marks the entry of Mrunal Thakur into the franchise. Her presence is expected to bring a fresh dynamic to the narrative. The poster features her in a gun-wielding pose alongside Devgn, suggesting her role is not just romantic but potentially action-packed.
