As the country prepares for the advance bookings of War 2 to open on Sunday, August 10, new details have emerged about the film’s massive release strategy. Producer YRF is planning one of the widest releases in the history of Indian cinema for the spy thriller, ensuring that the much-awaited clash between Hrithik Roshan‘s Kabir and Jr NTR‘s character reaches every corner of the country.
The scale of the release matches the enormous hype surrounding the film, which is the sixth entry in the blockbuster YRF Spy Universe.

According to exclusive industry sources, the Hindi version of War 2 is set for a colossal release on over 5000 screens across India. This massive screen count makes it one of the largest releases for a Hindi film ever. A source close to the development described the film as a “tentpole feature film of Indian Cinema,” and this wide release strategy is designed to cater to the unprecedented demand.
This release will not be limited to standard screens. The 5000+ count also includes an extensive rollout across all premium formats. Audiences will be able to experience the Ayan Mukerji directorial in IMAX, 4DX, ICE, and Dolby Cinema, ensuring a premium viewing experience for the action extravaganza.
Dominating Single Screens And High Expectations
In a strategic move to capture the mass market, YRF has reportedly secured over 90 percent of the single screens across the country, especially in the North Indian circuits. Exhibitors are said to be fully supportive of this plan, anticipating record-breaking footfalls due to the film’s star power and its appeal as a star-heavy action spectacle.
This massive screen count is designed to maximize the film’s collections over its four-day extended opening weekend, which begins on Thursday, August 14. The buzz is further amplified by reports of six spectacular action sequences in the film. Insiders have teased that Hrithik Roshan’s entry sequence in Japan and a major action block featuring Jr NTR as a Somalian pirate are two of the biggest highlights that will leave audiences thrilled.
