

Bryan Bagunas is Osaka Bluteon’s latest recruit for the upcoming 2025-2025 Japan SV.League season.
MANILA, Philippines — Filipino outside hitter Bryan Bagunas is returning to Japan’s top-flight volleyball scene after signing with Osaka Bluteon in the SV.League.
Bagunas, who is currently with Cignal in the Spikers’ Turf, joins the Japanese club after recovering from a knee injury that sidelined him in 2024. His last international stint was with Taiwan’s Win Streak Club from 2022 to 2023.

The 6-foot-5 spiker previously played in Japan from 2019 to 2022 with Oita Miyoshi, and now reunites with the league alongside Japan national team ace Yuji Nishida.
He will also team up with Osaka’s latest foreign recruit, two-time Olympic champion and French setter Antoine Brizard. He will be playing under new head coach Tuomas Sammelvuo.

“I am very honored to be a part of Osaka Bluteon,” Bagunas said in a statement. “I have always admired the strong culture and vision of the club and will continue to give my best and support the team in every aspect to achieve our goals.”
Bagunas is one of the key figures for Alas Pilipinas, which is set to compete in the FIVB Men’s World Championship hosted by the Philippines.
