“I think he’s great. I think he’s funny.”
Chris Pratt has long danced along the political knife-edge. He’s a charismatic and funny actor, so most simply choose to ignore his conservative religious and political beliefs. After all, Pratt seems to be smart enough to know he should keep whatever opinions he has to himself for fear of alienating audiences.
Well, those times may be over. In an appearance on Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast, Pratt waxed lyrical about Trump’s Secretary of Health and Measles Greatest Cheerleader, Robert F. Kennedy Jr, saying of the death-dealing vaccine-denier: “I think he’s great. I think he’s funny. I like him. I love him.”
The most positive spin here is that Pratt is just keeping the peace within his family. Pratt is married to Katherine Schwarzenegger, daughter of Arnie and Maria Shriver. Shriver is the daughter of Eunice Kennedy, sister to Robert F. Kennedy Jr, making RFK Jr and Pratt cousins-in-law.
Pratt’s strategy is apparently to just completely ignore all of the children Kennedy is currently killing: “When you jump on the bandwagon with the most divisive president ever, it makes sense that you’re going to be made to look terrible. So I don’t know what to believe.”
Nobody needs to make RFK Jr “look terrible”. He’s doing a perfectly good job of that on his own with his vaccine skepticism. This once-fringe position is now gaining popularity among MAGA, resulting in their kids being deprived of the MMR vaccine. Now, after a decade of zero measles deaths thanks solely to vaccination, 2025 alone has already seen unvaccinated kids die in Texas.
It’s just going to be awkward to bring up the dead kids at dinner
God Chris Pratt honestly sucks so much, RKF JR is actively cutting cancer research funding and vaccine research but here comes shaft-lord to swoop to his defense https://t.co/r1Y4OKMpdL

But hey, what’s a couple of dead kids when you have a family dinner party to get through? “It’s not like I sit with Bobby and go, ‘So hey, let’s talk about this.’ We’re just playing cards or playing Mafia or having fun or having dinner. I’m not going to pick his brain to find out exactly which of those things are true.”
Then, in a truly impressive bit of fence-sitting, Pratt insisted that he simply wants good things to happen in the world: “I’d hate to be so mired in hatred for the president that any success from his administration is something I’d be having an allergic reaction to. To be like, ‘Oh, well, if they do it, I don’t want it to happen. I’ll put Clorox in my children’s cereal myself!’ Be reasonable here. There’s certain things that would be a good thing to have. I want them all to be successful.”
This simpering neutrality is arguably worse than just openly siding with Trump. After all, if you’re a MAGA hat-wearing lunatic, you at least have an ideology. Anyway, next time Pratt is chilling out with his insane and murderous in-laws, when it’s time for movie night he could put on the critically acclaimed 2023 hit The Zone of Interest and have a good long think about his life.
