Cinematique Film Series finds new home at Jengo’s Playhouse

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – WHQR Public Media has announced a partnership with Cucalorus to present the Cinematique Film Series at Jengo’s Playhouse.

According to WHQR, Cinematique will begin showing at the new location in the Fall featuring a lineup of original films. Sponsors and donors are being recruited to continue to support the series.

The Cinematique Film Series is a film series sponsored by WHQR featuring a variety of classic, foreign, and other notable films.

The series has previously been shown at Thalian Hall for over 30 years. The final showings for Cinematique at Thalian Hall will take place from June 23 to 25 featuring some of the most popular films from the series.

“We are thrilled to be able to continue this community institution. With our new partnership with Cucalorus at Jengo’s, we hope to present even more independent, foreign, classic and notable films that might not otherwise find their way to our region,” said WHQR Development Director and Cinematique Coordinator Mary Bradley.
