Bone spurs run in the family.
Social media posts states that Barron Trump, the youngest and least wealthy member of the Trump family, has bone spurs that would prevent him from being drafted into military service.
The rumor spread quickly after President Trump announced airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities over the weekend. Social media posts suggested that Barron would follow in his father’s footsteps by using a medical condition to avoid military service.
The claim appears to be not True. Times Now Digital has confirmed that Barron Trump has no documented history of bone spurs or any similar medical condition. The 19-year-old New York University student who’s reportedly popular with his classmates has never been diagnosed with the condition that some social media users claim he inherited from his father.
The rumor began spreading after President Trump announced on Saturday that the United States had conducted successful airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites. The strikes hit facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, which Trump said were completely destroyed. This military action raised concerns about possible war with Iran and led to discussions about who might be drafted to serve in the military.
Donald Trump’s Vietnam War deferment remains controversial to this day
The connection people are making stems from Donald Trump’s own military history. In 1968, Trump received a medical deferment from the Vietnam War draft due to bone spurs in his heels. This deferment has been a source of political debate for decades, with some questioning whether the diagnosis was legitimate or simply a way to avoid military service.
Trump himself has described the bone spur condition as temporary and minor, citing a doctor’s note as proof. However, no official medical records have ever been made public to verify this claim. Some reports suggest the diagnosis may have been a favor from a podiatrist who was renting office space from Trump’s father, though this has never been proven.
Bone spurs are real medical conditions that form along the edges of bones, particularly in joints. They typically develop due to arthritis, aging, or repetitive stress on the body. Despite their name, bone spurs are usually smooth growths rather than sharp projections. They commonly affect the spine, shoulders, hips, knees, heels, and fingers.
The timing of these false rumors is particularly significant given the current international situation. President Trump’s decision to strike Iranian nuclear facilities has raised concerns about potential retaliation and escalation into a larger conflict. This has naturally led to discussions about military readiness and who might serve if additional troops are needed. However, spreading false information about Barron Trump’s health status only adds confusion to an already tense situation.
