MANILA, Philippines–Dalph Panopio is taking his act to the PBA after applying for the Rookie Draft set Sept. 7 at SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.
The former Batang Gilas mainstay confirmed his entry on Tuesday after spending the past few years playing in South Korea and India.

Panapio formally joined the Draft on the same day Jason Brickman and Will Gozum submitted their applications and Juan Gomez de Liano’s decision to participate in the proceedings.
He actually took part in Barangay Ginebra’s rookie workout facilitated by coach Tim Cone where the 6-foot-1 guard was accompanied by ex-Gin King Greg Slaughter.
The 25-year-old who was born to Filipino parents in Italy represented the country in the 2019 Fiba U-19 Basketball World Cup in Heraklion, Greece.

In seven games, Panopio posted 5.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists for the Batang Gilas team that also had Kai Sotto, Carl Tamayo and AJ Edu.
Panopio played for Cal State Bakersfield in the US NCAA before suiting up for Suwon KT in the Korean Basketball League.
His most recent stint was with Mumbai T. in India’s INBL, averaging 14.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.2 steals.
