His reaction to being caught is pretty outrageous.
The wife of former Maroon 5 bassist Mickey Madden, Kate Bowman, has made serious accusations against the musician. She claims he was involved in inappropriate conversations with teenagers and later physically attacked her when she confronted him about it. These claims were described in recent court documents found by TMZ.
According to Bowman, the troubling situation started when someone warned her about Madden’s alleged online messages, much like Dr. Disrespect’s own minor texting issues. These messages reportedly included discussions about “rape fantasies” with minors and contained explicit photos. After learning about this, Bowman decided to confront her husband. She says Madden reacted with extreme anger, describing his behavior as “insane” during the argument.
The argument turned into a physical fight. Bowman claims that after she took Madden’s phone, he threw her against their kitchen counter. Afraid for her safety, she says she ran away from their home. But Madden allegedly chased her, wearing only his underwear and no shoes. She says he caught up to her, slammed her against a gate, and then she escaped again, hiding between parked cars while trying to look through his phone.

The chase continued after that, and Madden allegedly caught her a second time, pushing her against a brick wall. Bowman stated in court documents that Madden acted so differently during this incident that she barely recognized him.
After the alleged attack, Bowman went to stay at a friend’s house. She also claims that Madden has since tried to make things right, sending her apology texts and handwritten letters. These messages, which were included as evidence in court, reportedly showed Madden admitting he planned to go to rehab for sex addiction.
Because of her claims and the fear and trauma she says she experienced, a judge gave Bowman a temporary domestic violence restraining order. This order is meant to protect her, given the seriousness of the accusations. However, the court did not grant one of her main requests to force Madden to move out of their shared home.
Beyond safety concerns, Bowman also brought up issues about their finances and their pets. She says that during their five-year marriage, Madden controlled all the money. She recently got a job and an apartment, which she suggested Madden could live in while she stayed in their main house. Even so, she is asking for spousal support from Madden. She also wants custody of their two Siberian huskies, named Toast and Jam. The couple is set to appear in court on August 20 to discuss these matters further.
Celebrities tend to have issues in their marriages, but this isn’t the first time for Madden. He had already left Maroon 5 five years before these new accusations, due to a domestic violence incident. So it makes sense that the evidence and prior crimes convinced the judge to grant a restraining order.
