Set to release on August 1, Dhadak 2 stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, whose palpable chemistry has captured attention ever since the trailer hit the internet.

In a behind-the-scenes video shared by the makers, director Shazia Iqbal gave viewers a glimpse into how that chemistry came to life. “From the first interaction itself, you can see their chemistry,” she said, while highlighting the thoughtful prep that went into building their bond.

A friendship-first approach to romance in Dhadak 2
Iqbal shared that she initiated workshops with Siddhant and Triptii before filming began. These weren’t traditional acting drills but rather a series of interactive exercises, games, and trust-building sessions. The goal was to help the actors form a genuine friendship, which could then serve as the emotional foundation of their on-screen relationship.
“When that happens, you don’t need to crack chemistry,” Siddhant added in the video. Triptii echoed his sentiment, saying that they clicked right from day one and that made everything easier when the cameras rolled.
Dhadak 2: Love, layered with conflict
In Dhadak 2, Siddhant plays Neelesh, while Triptii essays the role of Vidhi. Their love story navigates complex themes of caste, class, and identity, setting it apart from more sanitized romantic tales. The trailer, which dropped on July 11, has been praised for its emotional intensity and raw tone.
Siddhant has called the film his “most purposeful role yet,” while Triptii recently said in an interview that this is Siddhant’s “best performance so far.” The duo previously worked with Dharma Productions individually, but Dhadak 2 marks their first project together as a romantic lead pair.
