Global Government Forum’s upcoming Finance Summit and Fintech Lab will bring together senior public servants to discuss how they can help governments meet the challenges of a changing world.

The Global Government Finance Summit, to be held in Dublin on 10 and 11 June, will bring together leaders from governments including Brazil, Barbados, Latvia, Morocco and Ukraine, as well as Ireland. International institutions including the European Commission will also take part in discussions across the summit, which will cover: the key challenges facing finance ministries; the impact of volatile global order on finance ministries; how to boost productivity; how to get taxation right for the digital economy; and best practice in tackling fraud in government.

The agenda of the summit has been developed to bring together finance ministry leaders to discuss their domestic financial and regulatory challenges, and to explore potential solutions.

The conference is organised by GGF and hosted by the Government of Ireland, and supported by knowledge partner Microsoft. Find out more about the Global Government Finance Summit here.

Fintech Lab to share insights on using technology to improve government delivery

Alongside the Finance Summit, Dublin will also host the Global Government Fintech Lab event. The agenda for the one-day event features keynotes, panel discussions and international networking opportunities, and more than 20 speakers have now been announced for the 2025 Lab.

The event – which will be held in Dublin on Wednesday 11 June and is being organised by our sister title Global Government Fintech – will bring together professionals from a range of countries to share expertise and experience in how governments and financial authorities worldwide are exploring and using technology to improve their operations and delivery.

It is taking place for the fourth time, and for the third time in Ireland’s capital.

Ireland’s minister of state with responsibility for financial services, credit unions and insurance, Robert Troy, will deliver the keynote address. Troy was appointed in January and his remit includes the advancement of fintech policy in Ireland.

Free to attend for those in the public sector, session titles include ‘Governments and fintech: comfortable bedfellows?’, ‘Government finance: which (fin)technologies have the most potential?’, ‘Super supervisors? How well are financial regulators engaging with innovative technology?’ and ‘Who goes there? Exploring digital ID schemes and fintech-enabled innovation’.

Speakers from the host nation also include Barry Lowry, who has been chief information officer for the Irish government since 2016; Revenue Commissioner Ruth Kennedy; Brian Corr, who was appointed head of the Department of Finance’s international financial services unit in December 2024; and two senior Central Bank of Ireland representatives: director of financial operations Anne Marie McKiernan and head of innovation strategy and policy Miriam Dunne.
