EXCLUSIVE: Halle Berry will star in Ellie Foumbi’s drama Fleur for Killer Films, with AGC Studios fully financing the story of a New York housewife who flees to Paris after 30 years of marriage, and reinvents herself as an upscale escort and dominatrix.
Fleur carves out her own power and identity in her new life, but when her past catches up with her, the question becomes not just whether she will return, but whether she can. Berry won the Oscar for Monster’s Ball and her screen credits include Bruised and Never Let Go.
Foumbi, the Bafta Breakthrough USA Fellow whose Our Father, The Devil won the 2022 Tribeca narrative audience award, wrote and will direct the feature.
The film will be co-produced with Victor Hadida’s Davis Films, which will handle distribution in France through Hadida’s Metropolitan FilmExport.
Production is scheduled to commence in early 2026, shooting predominantly on location in Paris. AGC is also a co-producer and will begin pre-sales talks in TIFF next month.
Killer Films, the New York-based indie launched by Christine Vachon and Pam Koffler whose credits include Past Lives, Carol, Far From Heaven, Boys Don’t Cry, and May December, will produce alongside Berry and Holly Jeter’s HalleHolly Productions, and Gabriel Mayers of Plot Twist Pictures.
Vachon, Berry, Jeter, and Mayers serve as producers, with AGC’s Stuart Ford, Miguel Palos and Zach Garrett, Killer Films’ Koffler and Mason Plotts, and Lorelle Lynch on board as executive producers.
UTA Independent Film Group and WME Independent will co-represent US rights on behalf of AGC Studios, whose financing credits include Richard Linklater’s Hit Man, Anna Kendrick’s Woman Of The Hour, Justin Kurzel’s The Order, and Ron Howard’s Eden that opens through Vertical on Friday (August 22).
Besides winning in Tribeca, Our Father, The Devil earned Independent Spirit Award and Gotham Award nominations.
