People on both sides of the control line, who divide the territory, reported strong exchanges of fire between Indian and Pakistani troops. The fight decreased on Sunday morning.
The two countries agreed with a truce a day earlier, after negotiations to counteract the most serious military confrontation among them in decades after a tourist weapons massacre that India blames in Pakistan, which denies the accusation.
As part of the ceasefire, nuclear armed neighbors agreed to immediately stop all military shots and actions on land, air and sea. They accused themselves to repeatedly violate the deal just hours later.

The drones were seen on Saturday night over the controlled cashmire in India and the Western state of Gujarat, according to Indian authorities.
In the Poolch area of Caxemira controlled in India, people said the intense bombing of recent days traumatized them.
“Most people ran when shells were being fired,” said university student Sosan Zehra, who returned home on Sunday. “It was completely chaotic.”
In Caxemira’s Neelum Valley, controlled by Pakistan, which is three kilometers from the control line, people said there were fire exchanges and heavy bombing after the ceasefire began.
The resident Mohammad Zahid said, “We were happy with the announcement, but once again the situation seems uncertain.”
US President Donald Trump was the first to post about the agreement, announcing him on his social platform of truth. Indian and Pakistani authorities confirmed the news soon after.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high level meeting on Sunday with the main government and military authorities.
India, unlike Pakistan, said nothing about Trump or US since the agreement was announced. India also recognized anyone but its military contact with the Pakistani.
Pakistan thanked the US and especially Trump several times for facilitating ceasing.
On Sunday, UN -Voice Door Stephane Dujaric said Secretary Antonio Guterres received the agreement as a positive step to end current hostilities and decrease tensions. “He expects the agreement to contribute to lasting peace and promote an environment conducive to dealing with wider and longer issues between the two countries,” added Dujaric.
India and Pakistan have been involved in daily combat since Wednesday, along the rugged and mountainous control line, marked by barbear wire coils, watchman and bunkers that cover the foot, village -populated, tangled shrubs and forests.
They routinely blamed the other for starting the skirmish, while insisted that they were just retaliating.
India and the two main military officers of Pakistan should speak again on Monday.
Caxemira is divided between the two countries and claimed by both in full.
They fought with two of their three wars about the region and their ties were shaped by conflicts, aggressive diplomacy and mutual suspicion, mainly due to their competing claims.
