The governments of India and Pakistan reached a cease agreement after days of fighting, President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced early Saturday.
“After a long night of US -mediated negotiations, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed with a complete and immediate cease. Congratulations to both countries for using common sense and great intelligence,” Trump wrote in a post about a termination.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of India and Pakistan confirmed the agreement of ceasing -with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Ishaq to give, writing in a post about X that: “Pakistan and India agreed to cease it with immediate effect. Pakistan has always struggled for peace and safety in the region, without compromising its sovereign and territory!
At a press conference, India Foreign Minister Vikram told reporters that “both sides would prevent all military shots and actions on land and air and at sea with effect from 1700 hours of standard Indian time today. The instructions were given on both sides to make this understanding.”
The news happens just a few days after Pakistan began to bombard the border in a region disputed between the two nations called Caxemira.
India said at least 16 civilians have been killed since the attacks began and Pakistan said at least 31 people died after India launched air strikes on Thursday at Pakistan cashmir.
The tensions between the two nuclear powers increased after an April 22 terrorist attack at Caxemira administered by India, which killed 26 people. Indian authorities said the militant groups responsible for this attack have ties with Pakistan, which denied any involvement.
On Saturday, shortly after the announced Cessar -Fogo, Tammy Bruce, a state department’s gate, said in a statement that Rubio offered us assistance to start constructive negotiations to avoid future conflict, “but did not indicate when these negotiations would start or where they would happen.
