He’s on a farewell tour of infamy.
Disgraced former New York Rep George Santos may be on his way to jail, but according to a recent X post, he might try and take a few of his former colleagues with him.
Santos also had the nerve to bring up “touching kids” in “appropriately” at a time when childhood grooming and abuse are on everyone’s mind surrounding Donald Trump and the Epstein case. Notably, though, Santos was convicted of various fraud charges, so anything Santos said should be greeted with skepticism.
“I sleep well knowing …”
Santos wrote, “I sleep well knowing that I never did or would touch a child inappropriately.… We have a member of Congress that legit groomed a child and then married her!” But Santos hasn’t provided any details—no names, dates, or evidence. And given his well-documented history of lying about nearly everything, his claims deserve heavy doubt.
The Justice Department earlier criticized similar social-media allegations as signs of defiance, not contrition.
“It should go without saying that this message—which signals defiance and victimhood while characterizing the federal government as a ‘cabal of pedophiles’—is hardly an expression of ‘genuine remorse,’” the Justice Department said of Santos in April, according to CBS News.
The Santos Tucker Carlson interview
Santos will begin serving his 87-month sentence on July 25, 2025, and as well as his X post, Santos appeared on The Tucker Carlson Show as a sort of farewell tour of infamy.
In a July 11 interview on Tucker Carlson, Santos branded unnamed Congressional colleagues as “freaks” involved in “creepy sex stuff” and likened the Capitol to “cages” of secret behavior—again with no specifics.
Why hasn’t Santos named names?
Similarly, Santos provided no context for his “member of Congress that legit groomed a child and then married her.” One comment speculated, “Are you referring to John Rose (R-TN) and his now-wife, Chelsea Doss?” who married his current wife when she was around 21 and he was around 44. While there is an age gap, there is no evidence to suggest Rose did anything illegal.
Other comments were frustrated by Santos’ vague post, stating, “So start naming names.” Another added, “And why won’t you spill the beans on all members you know are horrible people?”
And finally, “It’s both disturbing & odd you have all this information about member of Congress yet you won’t do a damn thing about it! At the same time, you claim you’re not this nor that yet you expect us to believe you! Yeah! Ok!,” one comment said.
