Jordan Heading makes his debut for TNT in the PBA Philippine Cup against Ginebra.–PBA IMAGES
MANILA, Philippines—It may not be what Jordan Heading had envisioned for his debut in a TNT uniform but the Fil-Australian guard wouldn’t have it any other way.
After suffering from a nagging back injury for almost the entirety of the Philippine Cup, Heading finally made his return on Sunday night at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

TNT, however, got clobbered by rival Ginebra, 97-78, and saw its six-game winning run come to an end. But even after losing by a big margin, Heading’s demeanor was nowhere near dampened.
“It was amazing. I couldn’t stop smiling, I was so happy to be back out there,” said Heading.
“I’ve been pretty bored not being on the court so it felt good to be back in between the lines.”
In his first game back, Heading finished with 10 points, three rebounds and three assists plus a steal in over 19 minutes of action.
Listed as day-to-day, Heading’s status was uncertain coming into the Ginebra clash having missed the Tropang 5G’s victory over Blackwater on Friday.

But after a few rundowns by the TNT doctors, Heading was eventually given the green light to suit up.
“They had taken me to their doctors and he had cleared me. Obviously, time’s ticking and the playoffs are right around the corner so I just wanted to get my feet wet,” he said.
“I just wanted to fast track getting into game shape and there was no better way to do that than playing the game.”
Heading and TNT try to bounce back on Friday against Magnolia on Friday at the same venue.
