It’s been 19 years since Karan Johar’s Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (KANK) hit theatres, and the filmmaker marked the occasion with a nostalgic Instagram post that delighted fans. Sharing a string of behind-the-scenes photos and videos featuring the film’s star-studded cast, KJo penned an emotional note.

SRK’s playful glimpses in BTS pics and video steal spotlight

The BTS moments were as heartwarming as they were candid – from Shah Rukh Khan playfully closing the mouth of his on-screen son (played by Ahsaas Channa) while Karan looks on in surprise, to KJo smiling at Preity Zinta as she admires flowers. Other snaps captured Karan laughing with Abhishek Bachchan, Abhishek and Preity embracing while KJo animatedly speaks, a romantic moment between SRK and Rani Mukerji, and an iconic shot of Amitabh Bachchan with SRK. A special video showed the entire cast together, with SRK mimicking legendary actor Dev Anand.

Released in 2006, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehnawas a bold departure from mainstream Bollywood romances, exploring themes of marital discord, infidelity, and the pursuit of true love. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta, and Kirron Kher, the film stirred debate for its unconventional storyline but earned praise for its performances, music, and emotional depth.

Nearly two decades later, KJo’s tribute and the treasured BTS moments reminded us of the blod subject of the film and how KANK remains one of his most talked-about works.
