Kuberaa Box Office Collection Day 2: Film Crosses ₹50 Cr

Telugu Version Catalyses Growth, Running Towards ₹80 Cr Weekend

Kuberaa, the Dhanush action-drama directed by Sekhar Kammula, is developing into a much-needed box-office catalyst for the South film industry. After a strong start, the film has seen an atypical Saturday bounce, with a 2nd-day net of ₹17.75 crores, bringing its India total to ₹34.75 crores net.

What’s even more impressive is its overseas collections of ₹19 crores, or US $2.20 million, bringing its global total to ₹53.75 crores — and it’s well on track to cross ₹80 crores by Sunday night.

Unusual Saturday Bump in Telugu States Shows Positive Movement

Kuberaa is doing what few films have achieved – in particular, in Telugu cinema where bumps in Day 2 revenue are rare. Over the course of Saturday, the film collected ₹11 crores, a modest increase from the ₹10 crores on Friday, mainly due to large increases in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where Telangana saw nearly a 20% increase.

Bumps like this are infrequent for double-digit openers in Telugu territories, which speaks to strong word of mouth and audience retention.

Tamil Nadu Disappoints, But Shows Stability

Although Kuberaa has been receiving overwhelming success in Telugu, its Tamil Nadu box office journey is troubling. The film took away ₹8.60 crore in TN over two days. As of Saturday, there was a flat trend after an already lacklustre Friday. After an increased performance with late-night shows, we were hoping for a bump, but it did not get to measurable parameters.

That said, in TN, these numbers are considerably better than what we were hoping for just days prior to release.

Cost Recovery & Outlook

With production costs well above ₹125 crore, Kuberaa needed to show — both theatrically and non-theatrically. Fortunately, with a good amount of recovery in non-theatrical rights already, the burden of the box office wasn’t substantial for Kuberaa. Given the shape of these numbers, Kuberaa is on the path towards a clean HIT — if not more.

With no hits on the Telugu box office since Sankranti 2025, this gives a little something amidst a drought year.

Box Office Worldwide Verdict

Kuberaa has achieved something many recent South films have not — it grew on Day 2 after a double-digit start. With Dhanush’s solid pulling power and Sekhar Kammula’s grounded storytelling, it is safe to say the film has already crossed ₹50 crore worldwide in two days and could easily push to ₹80 crore in two days at this rate.
