Marjorie Taylor Greene rushed to her boyfriend Brian Glenn’s defense in a series of X posts. They came after Volodymyr Zelensky reignited his dispute with Glenn, chief White House correspondent for Real America’s Voice, over the suit, or lack thereof, the Ukrainian president wore at a recent visit to the White House.
In her first post, Greene said, “I’d like to recognize @brianglenntv for his success in upholding the proper White House wardrobe attire. If Brian had never asked Zelenskyy the question, ‘why don’t you wear a suit, do you own a suit?’ I’m not sure he would have ever worn one to visit our great and respected President!!”
During a February 2025 Oval Office meeting between Zelensky and Trump, Glenn questioned Zelensky’s attire, asking why he wasn’t wearing a suit. Glenn suggested that Zelensky’s choice of clothing showed a lack of respect for the President’s office. Zelensky responded by stating he would wear a suit “after the war,” between Ukraine and Russia, “is finished.”
Someone noted on Greene’s first post, “I don’t recall any complaints from republicans when the Saudis were visiting.”
Glenn said he’s sorry
During a subsequent trip to the White House in August, Zelensky appeared in a black military-style suit, a departure from his usual attire. Glenn complimented him, saying, “You look fabulous in that suit,” and apologized for his earlier remark. Zelensky noted that while he had changed his attire, Glenn was wearing the same suit, prompting laughter in the room.
What’s a press “core,” anyway?
In a follow-up post, referring to the incident, Greene stood up for her boyfriend, writing, “The White House press core under Joe Biden, never asked tough questions. During tyrannical Covid lockdowns and the highest inflation since the 1970s, the best they could muster up was what flavor ice cream he liked. Brian Glenn is asking the questions America cares about” — questions which, according to Greene, seem to be Zelenky’s choice of clothing.
Greene mispelled press corps, and her timeline is also fuzzy in that second post, as one comment noted. It said, “*press corps – Lockdowns started in 2020, who was president? – The maga press pool has asked Dear Leader about golf, that’s really the tough questions lol (I’m not gonna bother mentioning the constant a—-kissing pre-question lol)” Another added in part, “Yeah, asking about someone not wearing a suit is a really tough and important question.
