Owen Wilson To Join Meet the Parents 4

Owen Wilson, star of Amazon’s Stick, will be coming on board the latest entry in the Meet the Parents film series.

Expect the fourth film in the Meet the Parents franchise to be a “wicked” good time. That’s partly because Ariana Grande has been cast in a key role within the picture. More good news has arrived which relates to the fact that there will also be the return of Owen Wilson to the series as his character, Kevin, who had a romantic connection with Teri Polo’s central character, Pam, before she met Ben Stiller’s nurse in the series, Greg. Wilson hasn’t been seen on the big screen in a couple of years, so it’s only fitting to see him back again for what could be the last hurrah for this franchise.

Wilson has been a Wes Anderson regular for years, and has had several high-profile roles throughout his career. His best reviewed picture could be the Oscar-winner for Best Original Screenplay, 2011’s Midnight in Paris, where Wilson’s character got to mingle with the likes of Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald in an alternate reality conceived by filmmaker Woody Allen. That part was certainly one of his most successful roles though the actor has been in countless comedies throughout the years, some more successful than others.

Matt Dillon, Kate Hudson and Michael Douglas starred with Wilson in the very funny You, Me and Dupree, and Wilson also appeared with Vince Vaughn in the undeniably hysterical, yet poorly reviewed, The Internship from 2013. Wilson was Jennifer Lopez’s love interest in the humorous charmer, Marry Me, from 2022. Wilson was more recently seen in a Haunted Mansion reboot and in the box-office bomb, Paint.

While Ariana Grande’s role in the action of the new picture has been revealed to be that of Stiller and Polo’s characters’ son’s very difficult fiancee, expect more plot details to emerge regarding the fourth Meet the Parents film soon. John Hamburg is slated to direct, as previously reported, while Paramount will be co-producing the sequel. Grande’s part seems like a role tailor-made for the Academy-Award nominated actress who is expected to possibly win the Oscar for her role in the upcoming Wicked conclusion.

Owen Wilson is always fun to watch, so expect him to bring his keen sense of humor to the screen in the new project where he will return opposite veterans like Stiller, Robert De Niro and Polo. Wilson is still one of the funniest actors working today and his humor will certainly add to the upcoming sequel’s charm factor.
