In a shocking turn of events during the final night of CMA Fest, country star Conner Smith was reportedly behind the wheel in a fatal crash that killed an elderly woman in Nashville’s Germantown neighborhood.
Authorities say 77-year-old Dorothy “Dot” Dobbins was struck and fatally injured while crossing the street near her home.
A tragic night in Music City
The accident occurred just after 7:30 p.m. on June 8, when Smith’s Chevrolet Silverado collided with Dobbins in a marked crosswalk on 3rd Avenue North. She was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she later died of her injuries.
