Saxon, Yessss!
It’s official: Patrick Schwarzenegger will be checking in to Amazon MGM Studios’ new film Love Of Your Life alongside Margaret Qualley. After shooting to the top of the Hollywood A-list for his portrayal of Saxon Ratliff on Max’s (soon to be HBO Max again… or did they change it back already?) smash hit series, White Lotus.
After a bidding war, Amazon MGM Studios acquired the screenplay in October 2024. Rachel Morrison is signed on to direct the film, which was written by Julia Cox and is being produced through Ryan Gosling and Jessie Henderson’s Open Invite Entertainment banner. Details about the project are being kept under wraps, but after the bidding war and high-profile additions of Qualley and Schwarzenegger, this project is turning out to be a big film for Amazon.
Qualley has been on a hot streak as well, co-starring in the best horror film of the past year (and perhaps past several), The Substance, where she earned herself a Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award nomination for her role. She recently starred in Ethan Cohen’s second directorial feature, Honey Don’t, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
Aside from his role in White Lotus, Schwarzenegger also starred in Ryan Murphy’s American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez, where he played college quarterback Tim Tebow. But Schwarzenegger has been acting in films for a long time with titles like The Long Road Home, Midnight Sun, and Echo Booms. It wasn’t until his recent turn in White Lotus season 3 that Schwarzenegger became a household name, but with his pedigree and recent rise in star power, Love Of Your Life is shaping up to be a star-powered movie for the studio.
