MANILA, Philippines —Savi Davison believes PLDT’s teamwork and depth carried them to the promised land, capturing the first PVL on Tour championship.

Davison, the team’s top scorer since joining two years ago, said the title proved PLDT is more than a one-woman show after surviving Chery Tiggo, 25-17, 25-17, 19-25, 24-26, 15-8, in the winner-take-all final before 11,055 fans at Mall of Asia Arena.

“I’ve been saying this from every angle–we’re a threat. People keep telling me, it’s Savi, but in practice and in games, I cannot believe the girls that show up,” said Davison after pouring in 23 points.

“I think we have some of the best athletes in our gym and I’m just so glad to be a part of it. They make me better every day and I just hope I can do the same.”

“PLDT was here way before I got here. I’m just glad to be in the position where I can contribute. I wasn’t added to the team to turn some switch,” Davison said.

“People ask me all the time ‘why PLDT?’ but I can’t say anything else except I’m so glad—it’s either PLDT or nothing for me. I found a family here.”

The Filipino-Canadian hitter, who had 34 points in the semifinal, said the breakthrough was sweeter after falling short in the 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference quarterfinals and in the Reinforced semis last year.

“It was definitely a process. We started not from the bottom, but felt like we couldn’t catch a break. [From] Semis, quarters, whatever it was,” Davison said. “But it just makes it feel so much better when you had to fight for it. So, I’m glad that we were able to show up tonight and do what we had to do.”
