Releases Tomorrow With 1.6 Lakh Tickets Sold, Anime Film Beats ‘War 2’ And Eyes Rs 35 Crore Start

A new sensation is taking over the Indian Box Office, and it’s not a Bollywood or Hollywood giant. The Japanese anime, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, is witnessing a historic and revolutionary pre-sale trend ahead of its release tomorrow, September 12. The sixth installment of the beloved franchise is putting up unprecedented numbers, proving the massive power of anime in India.

Unprecedented Ticket Sales In National Chains

The advance booking for the film is simply sensational. As of 11 AM today, September 11, the anime has already sold over 1.60 lakh tickets for its opening day in just the top three national chains: PVR Inox and Cinepolis. With many hours still left, the film is expected to close its final advance admissions in these chains in the range of 2.10 to 2.20 lakh. This performance is set to make it the third-biggest pre-sale of 2025, beating the advance bookings of massive Bollywood films like War 2, Saiyaara, and Housefull 5.

A Record-Breaking Opening On The Cards

The overall financial numbers are even more staggering. The movie has already crossed a gross of Rs 20 crore in advance bookings across India and is now targeting a final pre-sale figure in the range of Rs 35 crore to Rs 40 crore. Based on this incredible trend, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is expected to take a monster opening of Rs 13 crore to Rs 15 crore net on its first day. In a stunning achievement, the film is projected to cross the lifetime earnings of previous successful anime films like Suzume and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 in less than a day.

The only films ahead of it are Hollywood behemoths like Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Avatar 2, which puts this achievement into perspective.
