Senator Amy Klobuchar says the Democrats would have been “best served by a primary” in the 2024 elections

Senator Amy Klobuchar, D-Min., On Sunday, said the Democratic party would have been “best served by a primary” in 2024, reflecting on the suspension of former President Joe Biden, suspension of her reelection campaign last year and endorsing the then vice president Kamala Harris before the election.

“You know, everything we looked in a rearview mirror after losing an election. Yes, we would have been better served by a primary. But we are where we are,” Klobuchar told NBC News’ “Meet The Press.

She emphasized that: “I’m not interested in going back in time. I’m interested in moving on” and said I was focused on “helping the American people” under a Trump government.

Klobuchar also faced questions about whether Harris’s loss to Trump was a sign that women cannot win the presidential elections.

“I hope no,” Klobuchar told press moderator “Kristen Welker when asked if the 2024 election means that Democrats should not name a woman to president.

The minnesota senator pointed out that women successfully led other large nations, adding: “And you also saw women in the US, amazing mayors, amazing governors. I look at the Senate – for the Democrats in the last elections, three of the four races in which we won the presidential ticket that were in women in Michigan, women, women, running women;

Klobuchar added that “I know it is not easy to run as a woman. If it was, we could play the game” Choose your favorite wife president. ”

The Senator of Minnesota also dodged if she ran for the presidency again, simply saying NBC News “Meet The Press when asked if she would discard another presidential campaign that is focused on her current job.

“I am focused on my work now. I am the third in Senate leadership, and we have a lot to do, and that means that people have their medicaid, their social insurance and assuming these Trump fares that are hurting the American people and our economy,” Klobucha to the president of the press, “Kristen Welker, when she wondered if she was the resignation,” Klobucha.

“I want a better America and I don’t think that’s how we get there with this president,” added the minnesota senator.

She first ran for presidency in 2020, competing against more than a dozen other democrats for the party’s presidential appointment, but gave up in March, ahead of Super Tuesday, the largest election day in the main calendar.

After giving up, Klobuchar began to endorse the president of the now format Joe Biden, who eventually won the democratic nomination and the presidency.

If Klobuchar decided to compete for the Democratic presidential appointment in 2028, it is possible that she can face some of her former enemies of the 2020 race, as other democrats such as former Transport Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Senator Cory Boaker, DN.J., should also compete for nomination again in three years.

Other names often floated as possible candidates for the 2028 democratic nomination include Governor Gretchen Whitmer, D-Mich.; Governor Tim Walz, D-Min.; GOV. GAVIN NEWSOM, D-CALIF.; GOV. ANDY BESHAR, D-KY.; Governor Josh Shapiro, D-Penn.; Governor Wes Moore, D-MD.; SEN. CHRIS MURPHY, D-Conn.; RO KHANNA, D-CALIF.; and Deputy Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y.
