STAR WARS: STARFIGHTER (2027): Mia Goth Cast in Villain Role in Upcoming Science Fiction Film

Mia Goth To Play Opposite Ryan Gosling

Mia Goth has been cast to play the villain role in the upcoming Ryan Gosling-led science fiction film, Star Wars: Starfighter.

If Mia Goth delivered her monologue from Pearl in any movie other than a horror film, she would have been assured an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for that picture. These days, with Demi Moore almost winning the Oscar for her work in The Substance, there’s an indicator that things are getting better for horror films to be recognized. Goth may have gotten a nod if her film had been a future release. In any event, Goth is a perfect casting choice for the new Star Wars picture subtitled Starfighter and she could play her role in the picture to the max if her previous work is any indication of what is to come from the multi-talented actress.

Due May 28, 2027, the standalone entry in the popular franchise, Star Wars: Starfighter, will be released. It will put Goth in the role of a character that will try to defeat the goals of Ryan Gosling’s leading hero. This movie is going to start production this fall in the UK. Goth’s part in the film was originally offered to Oscar-winner for Anora, Mikey Madison, but a sufficient financial deal wasn’t met between that star and the film’s studio. Goth’s lengthy monologue in Pearl was a high point in her career so far which suggests the actress has tremendous talents to back up her movie star-like appearance.

Mia Goth has a unique look that makes her fit right in when it comes to film roles in dark stories about people with mysterious personalities and vicious natures. It is clear she will be a good choice to star opposite Gosling in the new adventure which promises to help redefine a series which has spanned about six decades. Mia Goth has also appeared in the 2020 Jane Austen adaptation of Emma where she played the role of Harriet Smith opposite the always formidable Anya Taylor-Joy.

Set around five years after 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, director Shawn Levy (Free Guy)’s ambitious project looks to be one of the best Star Wars adventures yet. Goth is being cast in this film after roles in upcoming blockbusters from Guillermo del Toro and Christopher Nolan, Frankenstein and The Odyssey, respectively. Goth has come a long way over the years although she is known primarily for offbeat horror pictures like Infinity Pool and the Ti West-directed X film series which Pearl was a part of. With her role in the new Star Wars picture, Goth’s talents will be displayed to a much more mainstream audience than usual.
