Terrorists fired rocket at aid distribution site in Rafah on Wednesday evening, IDF says

The rocket fell approximately 250 meters from the aid distribution site adjacent to the Morag Corridor in the Rafah area.

A rocket was launched from Khan Yunis in southern Gaza towards an aid distribution point in Rafah on Wednesday night, the military said on Thursday.

The rocket fell approximately 250 meters from the aid distribution site adjacent to the Morag Corridor in the Rafah area.

The IDF added that despite the rocket launch, the aid distribution site opened on Thursday, and tens of thousands of weekly food packages were distributed to families.

The rocket launch follows the transfer of around 70 trucks of humanitarian aid, primarily containing food, through the Zikim and Kerem Shalom crossings into northern and southern Gaza on the same day.

More than 800 trucks’ worth of aid are waiting to be collected and distributed from the two crossings, COGAT noted in a Thursday morning statement.

The US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) also announced on Wednesday that it had extended a public offer to the UN and other international aid organizations to deliver their aid to Palestinians at no cost.

The statement follows the release of aerial footage by COGAT, which showed 950 fully loaded trucks containing 2,500 tons of food waiting in Gaza near Kerem Shalom.

GHF added that much of the UN and World Food Program’s aid convoys have been looted or confiscated, therefore struggling to deliver aid to Gaza.

This is a developing story.
