Heading into the 2025 season, 3,274 players who attended high schools in California have played or are currently playing in the NFL. There are a total of 784 high schools that have produced at least one NFL player.
California is the top NFL-player producing state in the country, followed by Texas and Florida.
Several players from the below-listed high schools played college football at schools and conferences in the West, including the Pac-12, Mountain West, Big West, Big Sky, and schools now in the Big Ten, Big 12, and ACC.
The number of NFL players from California schools will likely increase this fall when recently drafted players play their first regular-season games as pros.
California’s Long Beach Polytechnic leads the state with 61 NFL players produced and five currently active players, followed by Susan Miller Dorsey with 36, one currently active and Crenshaw with 26, one currently active.
