Forky To Appear in the Upcoming Toy Story Film
Tony Hale’s character from the last Toy Story movie, Forky, will be reappearing in the fifth movie in the much loved family film franchise.
Tony Hale can currently be seen on-screen in the critically acclaimed movie, Sketch. While promoting that film, Hale made it known that he recently recorded voice-over work for the magical new Disney sequel, Toy Story 5. Hale will once again serve as the voice of the character, Forky, a half spoon, half fork character that was seen in the fourth installment of the popular animated film series.
It didn’t take too long for Forky to fit right in when it comes to playing a part in the Toy Story franchise. Children seem to genuinely enjoy the new addition to the series which showcases Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) and Jessie (Joan Cusack), among others. The makers of the McDonald’s “happy meal” may want to potentially feature Forky as a character idea when Toy Story 5 is released theatrically on June 19, 2026 if the food chain decides to make the film’s characters the toys of choice during that time period.
This new Toy Story is going to have Conan O’Brien doing a voice for another character in the upcoming movie. It features a plot about how technology has sort of “replaced” the traditional old school toys of the past. Will the old toys triumph over those created in the more modern times or will both old and new ideals merge to make for a terrifically clever solution to this complex dilemma?
Disney/Pixar doesn’t make these Toy Story films too often and when they are made and released, they tend to shed light on major issues that arise in the world of kids and these movies look at topics that could arise if toys actually led secret lives. Andy, the original toy owner, may have grown up, but the newer Toy Story films still keep the wonder and excitement of the ideas intact. Forky will add much appeal to the fifth installment of a franchise that never feels like it gets old. In fact, characters like Forky keep the franchise fresh and unique.
Tony Hale, the voice of Forky, had a part in Nine Days, a terrific dramatic film that was released in 2021 and, more to the specifics of his current voice-over role, the actor played his beloved animated character on a shortly played TV series titled “Forky Asks a Question.” Forky would ask questions on the show such as “What is love? or “What is art?” and audiences enjoyed the results of the answers Forky discovered. Hale can currently be seen in Sketch from Angel Studios which is a well-received film that has some appeal to general audiences considering its “PG” rating.
