WINTER GAMES: Hailee Steinfeld Cast Opposite Miles Teller in Sports-Themed Love Story

Hailee Steinfeld Sinners

Hailee Steinfeld Cast in Romantic Sports Film

She’s played a “sinner” and a saint or two in the past and, now, Hailee Steinfeld, will play a skier in a movie called Winter Games.

Hailee Steinfeld is back in the chips in the acting department again after her brilliant supporting turn as a vampire in this year’s Oscar bait film, Sinners, where she played with Michael B. Jordan. Next up is a lighter film for Steinfeld called Winter Games where the actress will star opposite Miles Teller who will portray her love interest in the picture. Consider it the next The Cutting Edge. That 1992 film, The Cutting Edge, was a sports-themed love story that won the hearts of America when it was released. Consider Paramount’s next high-concept project, Winter Games, a movie in that vein.

Steinfeld didn’t waste time breaking into Hollywood when she starred opposite Jeff Bridges in 2010’s True Grit when she was only a child actress. The result of Steinfeld’s hard work that time out was an Oscar nod for Best Supporting Actress. In the recent vampire movie, Sinners, Steinfeld showed off a sexier and darker side than she’s usually been showing off in her recent roles. For those who only knew her from Pitch Perfect movies, Steinfeld’s range as an actress was definitely discovered this year with her fabulous role in Sinners.

In Winter Games, Steinfeld will portray an Olympics-bound skier who is drawn to Teller’s rebellious hockey player character. Paul Downs Colaizzo of Brittany Runs a Marathon (2019) fame is set to helm Winter Games. Steinfeld has appeared in so many types of movies from the action saga, Bumblebee, to her previous roles in art house fare like The Edge of Seventeen and Begin Again. She was born to play a romantic leading lady and Teller’s character will prove a match for her own character in the new film, Winter Games.

Steinfeld created a song for Sinners as well which is called “Dangerous.” Steinfeld was a hero in the music world when she created the groundbreaking song, “Love Myself” which was prominently featured in the Dakota Johnson/Rebel Wilson movie from 2016, How to Be Single.

Whether she plays a sinner or a saint or something in-between, Steinfeld is on the “cutting edge” of stardom. Teller has been waiting to explode as a box-office draw leading man since Whiplash and, now, he’ll get his chance at another The Spectacular Now-type of role. Expect Steinfeld and Teller to steam up the screen in Winter Games which is now in its beginning stages of development. Steinfeld has probably been waiting for this type of leading role her whole life and she’s about to break out as a box-office draw. Wait, she already is one. Sinners made some pretty big bucks at the box-office this past spring.
